Shiekh Safwat Al-Shwadify (1955-2000) (also: Ash-Shwadify, El Shwadfy, al-Shwadifi), (Arabic:صفوت الشوادفي) was one of most prominent scholars and sheikhs in Egypt. His full name was Mohamed Safwat Ahmed Mohamed Yusuf al-Shwadify.

Safwat al-Shwadify was born in the village of Shaganibah, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt, in 1955.
He received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Political science from Cairo University.
For 10 years, he was the editor-in-chief of an Egyptian magazine, Tawhid.[1] and wrote more than 120 articles there and elsewhere. He also wrote various books, the most famous of them being Lamps lit the way for us.
He died in 2000 after he prayed the sundown prayer when he was the imam for people in prayer. The last ayah read in his life was the following: "And whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it, with the necessary effort due for it (that is, does righteous deeds of Allah's obedience) while he is a believer (in the oneness of Allah), then such are the ones whose striving shall be appreciated (thanked and rewarded by Allah)." (17:19)
He memorized the Quran and studied its explanation when he was an army officer. During this time he won an army contest, the prize being the hajj to Mecca.
He travelled to Saudi Arabia, studied Islamic science there from great scholars such as Sheikh Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen and Sheikh Abderazaq Afify. He then came back to Egypt to open a new page of Da'wah to Allah.
He delivered hundreds of lessons and lectures in most of Egypt's governorates and cities and delivered Khutbah every Friday.
